The @LAGEPP is pleased to announce that M. Behnam Khadem won the prize of the best PhD of the SFGP committee in the domain of chemical engineering. The title of the PhD is “Design, scale-up and optimization of double emulsion processes”. It was part of the European project ModLife, under the supervision of Dr Nida Sheibat-Othman, with collaboration of Unilever. M. Khadem works now at Henkel in Germany, as Care R&D manager

“Les maladies cardio-vasculaires restent encore aujourd’hui la première cause de mortalité dans le monde d’après l’Organisation mondiale de la santé. A ce titre, le diagnostic constitue un enjeu de santé et de recherche. Dans cette optique, des scientifiques du Laboratoire d’automatique et de génie des procédés et de génie pharmaceutique (LAGEPP – Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1/CNRS), du Centre de recherche en acquisition et traitement d’images pour la santé (CREATIS – INSA Lyon/Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1/CNRS/INSERM) et des Hospices civils de Lyon, développent un nouveau type de scanner « spectral » pour la détection précoce et la caractérisation des maladies cardio- et neurovasculaires (1).”
