Summary: This project aims to understand and predict the properties of compact powders by experimental and mechanistic approaches coupled with numerical methods. The challenge is twofold. First, to correlate the powder ingredients' physicochemical properties and the formulated mixtures with the compacts' physicochemical, mechanical, coloured and sensory properties. Second, to understand the mechanisms involved during the compaction process to establish predictive models, using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to design an intelligent and data-driven compaction process. The results obtained will provide a positive ecological impact in the development and production phases of the cosmetics compacts, inscribing this project in objective 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production", of sustainable development.

Résumé: Ce projet vise à comprendre et à prédire les propriétés des poudres compactées grâce à des approches expérimentales et mécanistiques associées à des méthodes numériques. Le défi est double : (1) d'une part, établir une corrélation entre les propriétés physico-chimiques des ingrédients de la poudre et des mélanges formulés et les propriétés physico-chimiques, mécaniques, chromatiques et sensorielles des compacts (2) d'autre part, comprendre les mécanismes intervenant au cours du processus de compactage afin d'établir des modèles prédictifs, en utilisant des outils d'intelligence artificielle (IA) pour concevoir un processus de compactage intelligent et fondé sur les données. Les résultats obtenus auront un impact écologique positif sur les phases de développement et de production des poudres compactes cosmétiques, inscrivant ainsi ce projet dans l’objectif n° 12, « Consommation et production responsables », du développement durable.
